A 30-year-old TTPost retail officer and part-time ride share driver was kidnapped, robbed, and locked in the trunk of his vehicle by four male suspects around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, at Sam Boucaud Grounds near the WASA pumping station in Santa Cruz. The victim had driven his silver Toyota Axio to pick up a female passenger through a ride share app when four men suddenly approached and entered the vehicle; one suspect pointed a firearm at him and ordered him to the back seat. The suspects ransacked the vehicle and stole two cellphones (Samsung Z Fold 4 valued at $8,000 TT and Google Pixel 6A valued at $3,500 TT), a bag containing $800 in cash from ride share earnings, and a bottle of cologne valued at US $50. The suspects covered the victim's face with a vest, forced him out of the vehicle, and locked him in the trunk. The victim managed to escape from the trunk.
