Teenager robbed and assaulted by two men near Morvant taxi stand (17)

George Street, near Morvant taxi stand, Port of Spain

A 17-year-old boy was robbed and assaulted by two men near the Morvant taxi stand around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025. The victim was walking near George Street when approached by two men of African descent, both dressed in black jerseys and three-quarter pants. One suspect, described as stocky with short plaits and dark complexion, attempted to remove a gold band from the teen's left hand; when the victim resisted, a struggle ensued and he was punched in the face. The suspects made off with a gold band valued at $2,000, a black Nike bag containing a Samsung cellphone valued at $900, a Republic Bank card, and the teen's national ID card. One suspect fled east with the jewelry while the other ran west with the bag.
