A 72-year-old woman was abducted from her Circular Road home in Ste. Madeleine on Friday afternoon, June 27th, 2025, by a man who had financially exploited her for months by emptying her bank account and collecting her monthly pension. The suspect had gained her trust, used her savings to purchase a vehicle, and continued extracting her pension after her account was depleted. Good Samaritans alerted police, and with officer assistance, the woman closed the compromised account and opened a new one to protect future pension payments. Enraged by the account closure, the suspect allegedly returned to the property on Friday afternoon and forcibly abducted the woman against her will. The woman lives with her blind sister; her husband had previously fled due to death threats from the suspect.
