Fyzabad man shot during $10,000 Crypto transaction (32)

Champs Fleur shops, San Juan, San Juan - Laventille

A 32-year-old man was shot in the shoulder during an attempted robbery while conducting a cryptocurrency transaction shortly after midnight on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. The victim was driving a Nissan Note accompanied by another man named Johnathon, who was carrying approximately $10,000 in cash intended for crypto transactions. The pair met an unknown man wearing a dark blue coverall and hat near the Champs Fleur shops. An armed man dressed in dark clothing approached the vehicle, brandished a firearm and fired a shot, striking the victim in the left shoulder. The victim attempted to flee but struggled to open his car door during the altercation. The victim drove directly to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he received medical treatment for his injury. He remains in stable condition. Police are investigating the attempted robbery and shooting.
