Three men were arrested outside the Popeye's Fast Food outlet in Piarco around 2:20 PM on Monday, March 9, 2026, after members of the Home Invasion Team of the National Special Operations Unit observed them emerging from nearby bushes and approaching the target location. Officers led by ACP Richard Smith, ASP St. Clair, and Cpl. Sahadeo took strategic positions and apprehended all three suspects before they could carry out the robbery. Three cutlasses, two ski masks, and a black leather strap were seized from the men. The suspects are aged 23, 24, and 19 years old, from Oropune, La Mango Road (Maracas/St. Joseph), and Maloney respectively. The men are suspected in reports of robbery and home invasions. The operation was coordinated and executed by the NSOU's Home Invasion Team.
