A 29-year-old pipe fitter was shot while driving a white Nissan Tiida along Sunrees Road Extension around 11:10 p.m. on Saturday night. He was travelling with his mother and a family friend when gunfire erupted; he felt a burning sensation in his upper back and realised he had been shot. Despite his injury, he managed to continue driving and made his way to the Siparia District Health Facility, where he was treated before being transferred to the Point Fortin Area Hospital for further care. Crime scene investigators examined the vehicle and discovered a single bullet hole to the rear door which penetrated through the driver's seat, confirming the shot had entered from outside. Investigators processed the vehicle and visited the shooting location.
