A man was approached by four suspects around 4:00 PM on Thursday afternoon while standing along the northern side of the Beetham Highway near the lighthouse. One suspect, wearing a red Chicago Bulls cap and three-quarter length jeans, attempted to snatch a gold chain valued at approximately TT$5,000 from the victim. A struggle ensued between the victim and the suspect, during which a marked police motorcyclist in the vicinity observed the incident. Upon seeing the officer approach, the group immediately fled the scene, running east along the highway and escaping empty-handed. Police intervention prevented the robbery from being completed.
