Illegal rifle seized during police operation in Petit Bourg

Germain Avenue off Upper Irving Street, Petit Bourg, San Juan, San Juan - Laventille

Officers from the San Juan and Santa Cruz Criminal Investigations Departments, supported by the North Eastern Division Task Force, conducted an intelligence-led operation under Operation Steady G.U.A.R.D on March 2, 2026. The operation, which ran between 7 pm and 10 pm in a forested area along Germain Avenue off Upper Irving Street in Petit Bourg, resulted in the discovery and seizure of a rifle concealed in dense vegetation. The weapon was removed for forensic examination to determine its origin and any potential links to criminal activity. The operation was completed without incident as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt illegal firearm networks and reduce violent crime.
