Two 25-year-old men were robbed at gunpoint on Monday, March 30, 2026, around 9:30 PM in Laventille. A Barataria man was operating a black Nissan Almera taxi at the San Juan Taxi Stand on Charlotte Street when three men, including a Laventille resident, entered as passengers. The driver proceeded east along Eastern Main Road, Laventille, but near Pigalles Hardware, two passengers announced a robbery. The Laventille victim was robbed of a blue iPhone 12 Pro valued at US$500, a brown wallet containing bank cards, identification, a driver's permit, and TT$300 in cash. Both men were ordered out of the vehicle, and the suspects fled in the stolen taxi. The vehicle was later recovered by officers of the Besson Street Operations Unit along Upper Wharton Street, Laventille.
