A TT Ride Share driver was robbed at gunpoint and his vehicle carjacked in Tacarigua on Sunday, May 24, 2026, after responding to a fraudulent pickup request. The driver received a phone call around 6 p.m. from a woman requesting transportation to Port of Spain, with the pickup rescheduled for later that evening. Around 9:45 p.m., the driver arrived at Paradise East, Tacarigua, in his blue Nissan Note when two women and two men entered the vehicle. One of the male passengers pulled a firearm, announced the robbery, and stole the driver's vehicle along with cash, an iPhone 15, and a wallet containing personal items. The suspects fled the scene with the vehicle, which was recovered less than an hour later along Manoram Street, Tacarigua. Police investigations are ongoing into the incident.
