MorvantThree Chaguanas Residents Robbed at Gunpoint Over Facebook Marketplace Vehicle Scam

Las Alturas, Morvant, Port of Spain

Three Chaguanas residents were robbed at gunpoint in Las Alturas, Morvant on Monday, June 8, 2026 around 7 p.m. after responding to a Facebook Marketplace listing for a white Nissan Tiida advertised for $32,000. Upon arrival at the location, three armed men approached the group; one suspect brandished a firearm and ordered the victims out of their vehicle. The suspects searched the victims and their vehicle, stealing multiple valuables including wallets containing identification cards and bank debit cards, an iPhone 12, a Samsung cellphone, silver-coloured earrings, a silver chain, and a silver ring. After completing the robbery, the suspects fled on foot through a nearby track. Police are investigating the incident; no arrests have been made at this time.
