Pensioner Tara Bridgemohan, 75, was found dead in her bedroom at her home on Hassanali Trace, Barrackpore on Saturday morning after intruders ransacked the house and stole cash and jewelry. Her son and daughter-in-law discovered her at approximately 1:30 AM when they returned home; she was bound with black tie straps and red cloth was wrapped around her face and mouth, with her arms tied behind her back. Bridgemohan was last seen alive by relatives at around 4:30 PM on Friday; the intruders entered through a window and stole an unspecified quantity of cash and jewelry before fleeing. Officers from the Barrackpore Police Station responded and the body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James. Police are investigating the circumstances of her death; no arrests have been made.
