Four masked men armed with cutlasses robbed a supermarket in Barrackpore on Saturday at approximately 8:55 p.m., making off with a safe containing $40,000, two cash registers, and cartons of cigarettes. One of the cutlass-wielding robbers struck the security guard about his body while employees were forced to lie on the ground during the robbery. The suspects escaped in a grey Honda City with the stolen safe and registers. Crime scene investigators corporals Loutan and Nandoo attended the scene, with Corporal Seth continuing investigations into the incident.
