A 71-year-old visually impaired pensioner from Petit Bourg was robbed of TT$3,500 in pension cash on Eastern Main Road near Value Optical in San Juan on Wednesday morning, July 1st, 2026, around 9 a.m. Two unidentified men approached the victim, who suffers from cataracts, and allegedly shoved him to the ground before stealing the cash and fleeing the area. The victim reported the incident to San Juan Police Station and was advised to seek medical treatment, though he declined. Police are investigating the robbery and searching for the two suspects; no arrests have been made.
