Over $833,000 worth of commercial frying oil was discovered missing from the Coconut Growers' Association compound on the Eastern Main Road, Laventille during a routine stock audit. Security camera footage captured a truck entering the premises, where a forklift was used to load five pallets of oil before the vehicle departed. The theft involved 200 17-litre kegs of Special Frying Oil valued at $47,000, 1,702 17.3-litre kegs of Master Fry Oil valued at $408,042.36, and 1,873 17-litre kegs of Special Frying Oil worth $378,439.65, totalling over $833,000 in missing products. Investigations are continuing into the unauthorized removal of the merchandise from the facility.
