The officer had picked up three passengers—two women and a man—who allegedly became aggressive when he continued to the destination provided through the ride-share application rather than changing course as they requested. After the vehicle came to a stop, the male suspect allegedly attacked the driver with a knife, inflicting wounds to his neck, face, and hand. The three suspects fled the scene following the assault. Despite his injuries, the officer drove himself to the Mon Repos Police Station and was transported to San Fernando General Hospital for treatment. Police confirmed the injuries were not life-threatening. Investigators are continuing efforts to identify and locate the three suspects involved in the attack.
