A delivery driver employed by 'O Deliver' was pistol-whipped and robbed of approximately $5,000 cash at the corner of Flamingo and Ibis Drive, Pleasantville, San Fernando on Saturday afternoon. The driver had been lured to the location by a man posing as a customer named 'Kemani' via cell phone communication. When the suspect approached and requested to see the package, the driver became suspicious; the suspect then pointed a firearm at him, and the two began to scuffle. During the struggle, the driver was struck several times on his face and upper body with the firearm, and an unloaded magazine ejected from the weapon and fell near the driver's door. A second man then approached the delivery van, and the armed suspect demanded 'Give me everything'. The accomplice opened the van door and removed several packages while the first suspect took the cash. Both suspects fled the scene by running into Flamingo Drive with the stolen cash and packages. Officers from the Mon Repos CID responded and recovered the empty firearm magazine on the road. PC Elliott of the Mon Repos Police Station is continuing investigations.
