Police seized approximately 1.74 kilogrammes of cannabis from an empty lot of land along Quarry Street, East Dry River, Port of Spain on Monday, July 13, 2026. The discovery was made during Operation Resolute Shield between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., when officers conducted anti-crime exercises with support from the Canine Branch. Officers located two rectangular packages containing the cannabis during a search of the vacant lot. The drugs were taken into police custody. The operation was led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Hazel and Senior Superintendent Ramnarine, coordinated by Superintendent Ramsook, with investigations continuing.
