A 65-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain valued at approximately TT$3,500 while walking along Charlotte Street in Port of Spain on Monday, July 13, 2026 at about 1 p.m. The woman was walking with her daughter when a young man approached from behind and grabbed the gold chain from around her neck in a snatch-and-run attack. The suspect, described as a slim African-descent male in his early 20s standing about 5 feet 3 inches tall, fled south along Charlotte Street before heading east along South Quay. Police are continuing investigations into the robbery; no arrests have been made at this time.
