Mini-mart owner Victor Baron, 61, was beaten and robbed at gunpoint at the corner of Williams Street and SMR Enterprise, Port of Spain on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 around 6:30 PM. Two men of Hispanic descent entered Yixsi Mini-mart posing as customers, then drew a firearm and announced a robbery. Baron was struck to the head during the assault as the suspects took $4,500 in cash and a diamond and gold wedding ring from him. Police are investigating the armed robbery; no arrests have been made at this time.
