During Operation Push Back in the Belmont district on Friday, July 24, 2026, officers of the Port of Spain Gang Intelligence Unit recovered one black Beretta pistol and 622 grammes of cannabis between 2:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The operation was conducted across the St Ann's, Sea Lots, Gonzales and Belmont districts with support from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Canine Unit. The firearm and narcotics were seized and packaged pending further investigations. The operation was spearheaded by DCP Suzette Martin, ACP Henry, Snr Supt Thom, Supt Ramdeen, Supt Baird, ASP Cadette, ASP Mungroo and Insp. Durga, and was directly supervised by Sgt Benjamin.
