Two electronics businesses at Excellent City Mall on Frederick Street, Port of Spain were burglarized overnight between Friday evening July 24 and Saturday morning July 25, 2026. The first mobile phone business was secured at 5:20 p.m. on Friday; when reopened at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, the owner discovered the front padlock tampered with and the booth ransacked, with cellphones, laptops, tablets and TT$800 in cash stolen. The second electronics kiosk was secured at 6:45 p.m. on Friday; upon returning at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, it was found ransacked with cellphones and electronic accessories valued at approximately TT$10,000 stolen. Investigators determined the burglars gained entry by prying open a metal shutter on the southern side of the building, using it as both entry and exit point. Police have launched an investigation; no arrests have been made.
