Carjacking attempt foiled as motorist escapes (female victim)

A female motorist was targeted by bandits attempting to carjack her vehicle near Alpine Recreation Grounds in Preysal on March 4, 2026. As the suspect attempted to open her car door, the alert driver immediately accelerated and managed to escape with her vehicle. The assailant was forced to abandon the carjacking attempt and fled the scene, returning to a dark-colored Chevrolet Sedan (license plate PCY 9059) that had brought him to the location. The incident was captured on the vehicle's rear dash cam, providing evidence of the attempted theft. The quick thinking and decisive action of the motorist prevented the loss of her vehicle.
