Driver opens fire on police officers during traffic stop (suspect unidentified)

Eagle Drive, Chase Village / Carlsen Field area, Agostini , Couva - Tabaquite - Talparo

A routine road traffic exercise in Chase Village escalated into a police chase and shooting incident on March 5, 2026, around 7:00 p.m. W/Cpl Roberts and PC Marshall were conducting operations when they stopped a white Mazda B1600 pickup (TAT-6011). The driver suddenly sped off toward the Carlsen Field area, prompting officers to give chase. The pursuit ended along Eagle Drive, where the driver exited the vehicle and pointed a gun at PC Marshall, firing in his direction. PC Marshall discharged one round from his TTPS-issued 9mm Sig firearm in response, fearing for his life. The suspect escaped into the area and could not be identified due to poor lighting conditions. Despite extensive searches by officers from the Canine and Defence Tactical Force (CDTF) and South Highway Patrol, he was not located. The vehicle is registered to Sheldon Rollocks of #17 Quarry Drive, Champ Fleur.
