Homadath Sookdeo, 44, a resident of Todd's Road, Chaguanas, was reported missing after failing to appear at his childhood home in Longdenville for Sunday lunch on March 9. His body was discovered in bushes near the main carpark at Tyrico Bay around 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, with his hands and feet bound and mouth gagged. Police determined Sookdeo was murdered and his body dumped at Tyrico sometime on Saturday night, March 8. There were no gunshot or stab wounds on the body. Sookdeo's pickup truck was later recovered in Maracas; relatives stated he had no reason to drive to the north coast. An autopsy was expected to be performed to determine the cause of death. Police are investigating the motive for the murder.
