Suspect arrested with firearms and narcotics during IATF raid (36-year-old male)

Jojo Lane, El Socorro, San Juan, San Juan - Laventille

Early Saturday morning on March 21 at approximately 6:45 AM, officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) led by Sgt. Bethelmy conducted a targeted operation at a one-storey derelict building on Jojo Lane based on intelligence reports. Upon entry, they found a 36-year-old man lying on a mattress who had ignored repeated instructions to comply. During the search, PC Perkins recovered a Kel-Tec 12-gauge shotgun with six rounds of ammunition. The Canine Unit discovered a bag containing ten packets of a cream-like substance suspected to be cocaine, along with three bags of marijuana. A second firearm—a rifle loaded with 18 rounds—was also recovered. The suspect, who did not hold a valid Firearm User's Licence, was detained under Regulation 13 of the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2026.
