A brutal domestic attack occurred in Grand Lagoon, Mayaro when 54-year-old Larry Neaves ambushed his wife, 52-year-old Gwendolyn Medina, a school security officer, at their home. Medina's 21-year-old son, Darion Neaves, was also attacked during the incident, with screams heard from inside the house as the violence unfolded. Medina was seen fleeing the house bloodied, with her husband in pursuit armed with a cutlass. The assault escalated when Neaves retreated inside the residence and set the house on fire with himself still inside. Both Medina and her son sustained injuries during the attack. The fire destroyed the family home, and Neaves died in the blaze. Emergency responders attended the scene, with Medina requiring medical treatment for her injuries.
