Corner of College Road and Bassie Street Extension, Curepe, Tunapuna - Piarco

Joshua Samaroo was unlawfully killed on January 20, 2026, at the corner of College Road and Bassie Street Extension, St. Augustine by Kaia Sealy of Bamboo Settlement No. 1, Valsayn. A comprehensive investigation was conducted and a detailed file was submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Following consultation with the DPP, warrants were issued for Sealy's arrest on charges of manslaughter and three counts of shooting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm at police. At the time of reporting, the warrants had not yet been executed; further updates are pending.
