CouvaOne Glock Pistol and 17 Rounds Seized in Anti-Crime Exercise

Couva district, Couva, Couva - Tabaquite - Talparo

Police seized one Glock pistol loaded with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition during an anti-crime exercise in the Couva district on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, between 11 am and 5 pm. Six suspects aged 25 to 34, all from the California district, were arrested during the exercise for various offences including Robbery with Aggravation, narcotics possession, and firearm-related offences. One additional man was held on an outstanding warrant. The exercise was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Bhagwandeen, Superintendent Frank, and ASP Harripersad, and included personnel from the Couva Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the CD Task Force Area South.
