Fared Mohammed, a 25-year-old man, was shot while riding his bicycle near a vegetable stall in Union Village, Rio Claro on Thursday night around 9 p.m. Mohammed heard a loud explosion and immediately felt a burning sensation in his back as he was struck by gunfire. Despite sustaining a gunshot wound, Mohammed managed to ride home where he discovered he had been shot. He was quickly taken to the Mayaro Health Facility for emergency medical treatment. Police are investigating the shooting incident. The motive and identity of the shooter remain unknown at this time.
